“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear”

FILM:- EARTH HOME

Home has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being:

Watching this film, what comes through is the sheer incredible beauty of our planet and how each of us needs to play our part in protecting it. Yann Arths-Bertrand takes us on a unique journey all around the planet. We visit the landscapes of 54 countries captured from above, allowing us the space and time to contemplate and to understand this fragile planet.

“EARTH is HEAVEN” - let’s protect our home!!

MUSIC:- ZAP MAMA

It’s good to have Zap Mama back on the music scene again!!! – this groundbreaking french group has been long seducing our eardrums with their unique mix of afrobeat, modern jazz and hip hop grooves.

zap-mama

Their new sound as usual features their signature of mixing engaging global rhythms into an intoxicating groove. We are not blown away by the video (*must be because of a credit crunch budget), but we still have to admit that their new album called ReCreation is fun and should go down well during the hot summer barbecues times. Enjoy below the video for “Hello to Mama”, the first single to be taken of their new album:

ART:- JAPAN FULL BODY TATTOO

Some say it’s the symbol of organized crime, other say it’s artwork…. Whichever perspective you have, there’s no denying that the artwork produced by full body tattoos, are both stunning and beautiful.

The origins of such tattoos were to highlight one’s affiliation to organized crime connections, but these days, they are slowly becoming a symbol of art. Check out the videos and admire the handiwork that goes into turning the human skin into a canvas of pure dazzling art.

FILM:- RAW FOR 30 DAYS

Yes the title sounds like a porn film, and technically this is not travel related nor is it a foreign movie (*well depending where you live that is)… but we felt it’s message is vital and needs to be heard.

We know the mainstream world will bury this under a ton of TV re-runs, but we didn’t want you to miss out.

ART:- MYSTERY OF FAVELAS

Dangerous? – hell yeah!…. Scary? – yep!…. yet strangely a place where you also find good people who are simply looking for a break – a way out of the economic trap that they were unfairly born into.

fav1

Favelas always hold mysteries, its not a place for the unseasoned traveler….

fav2

We simply wanted to represent a different aspect . We wanted to somehow represent its visual beauty even through its struggles.

fav3

It’s frustrating that the government  still hasn’t provided a solution after all these years!! – It’s not about attacking the people living there, its about helping them escape this poverty trap.

MUSIC:- AMADOU & MARIAM

Ama

Amadou Et Mariam, hailing from Mali, have consistently brought us all great tracks to listen to on the r or whilst lounging on a long flight. This new video for their cool track Masiteladi, is one of our current faves!

It’s taken from their new album called ‘Welcome to Mali’ ( not exactly a catchy title – but the music inside is good). Enjoy their new single below:

MUSIC:- N.A.S.A

nasa

For us right now, NASA is the group that has our attention. They are bringing something fresh to the table, mixing hip hop, indie and electro sounds into their creative futuristic sound-plates.  We cannot wait to pump this new album by them on our ipod, during those long boring flights home. Their videos are also amazing, check them out below:
